Placement Process

Eligible candidates will be contacted for interviews and discussions through telephone. This will involve a three step process.

     Step1:
  • - This step is a detailed interview to learn the student’s interest. Since prior experience is not required in the field the student is interested to do the project, the capabilities, willingness to learn, and commitment to complete the assigned project will become important factors.
  • - Freshman students are placed based on the courses completed in the first semester. If the first semester courses are not adequate for the student to be involved in a specific project, the student will have to provide sufficient evidence that computer courses will be taken next semester.
  • - Sophomore students have a choice to pursue a project either based on freshman year courses or the first semester courses completed in the sophomore year. Previous year summer internship is a plus but not a deciding factor. Sophomore students have options to implement ideas from the student’s college class into actual projects.
  • - All students have the opportunity to learn about available projects and have a chance to select the area of interest.
     Step2:
  • - Students shortlisted in the first step have the option to talk to a student who had a similar project experience in the previous year. Students will get ideas about the project mentors, the learning process and how the project experience will help achieve placements in the student’s junior year.
     Step3:
  • - After completing the previous 2 steps, students in the step 3 have a chance to talk to their project mentors. New or current project, suitable time and duration can be discussed.
  • - Application processing, finding a suitable project, arranging interviews and appropriate placement will involve fee for final registration.
